2) Major League
3) Little Big League
4) Major League 2
5) Hard Ball

  1. Well, I would have to add two movies to the serious films list and dump Bull Durham and The Natural down the list.

    My two are:
Pride of the Yankees and Bang the Drum Slowly

    but that's just me.

  2. I disagree. Bull Durham is one of Kevin Costner greatest role! Alongside with, For the Love of the Game. Which brings up my continuing question, why is Costner not on the picture slide. 4 baseball movies and 6 sport orientated movies. I would add, Rookie of the Year, to Funny/Kid. As well.

  4. Did you just throw in a boxing movie?! Nice. Good call on 61. Forgot about that movie.

  5. Yes, boxing is a sport. And I dare you to say "Rocky was a terrible movie". Seriously, try it. It's impossible for those words to come out of a man's mouth. Heck I bet you're quoting lines from the movie in your head right now.

I loved 61. Billy Crystal did an excellent job documenting that amazing home run race to break Babe Ruth's record. Seeing the way both players dealt with the stress and pressure off the field is what really made that movie so great. It's a must watch movie for any baseball fan. Sports movies really died out after the late 80s, and they became the silly/kid movies. So having another good serious sport movie like this come out in 2001 was very refreshing.

follow the link above. Great follow up to this topic with Major League. Looks like even actors use PEDs. Hillarious, and totally believable from Sheen.
